How much notice do you need?

I take a limited number of cake bookings per week. Giving plenty of notice will ensure I have space in my diary. Ideally, six months for wedding cakes and four weeks for celebration cakes.

The busiest time of year is wedding season (March – October) and during the School holidays. I am not available over Christmas and New Year.

How much deposit do you require for a cake order?

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your chosen date.

When do I need to pay the final balance for a cake order?

The balance for celebration cakes is due two weeks prior to collection / delivery. Four weeks prior to delivery of Wedding cakes.

Will you supply a box for the cake?

Yes, all our cakes are boxed and labelled with allergen information.

How much are your cakes?

All my cakes are bespoke and therefore individually priced. You can see my price guide here or contact me for a quote.

Do you make all your own cakes?

Yes, I make all my cakes and fillings from my cake studio. I use fresh quality ingredients, free range eggs and natural flavourings where possible.

What cake flavours do you make?

What’s your favourite? I can make most flavours and will advise which are the best to be paired together for your cake.

Here are a few of our popular flavours below. If you have another flavour in mind, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you.

  • Madeira sponge with vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam
  • Lemon sponge with lemon buttercream & lemon curd
  • Chocolate sponge and chocolate buttercream or variations (Mint, orange, cherry, caramel or coffee)
  • Coffee sponge with coffee buttercream
  • Red velvet sponge with vanilla buttercream or white chocolate buttercream
  • Carrot cake with orange or vanilla buttercream
  • Rich fruit cake soaked with Whisky or Cognac
  • Light fruit cake (without nuts)

My cakes are finished with buttercream, ganache or fondant. Rich fruit cakes are covered with apricot glaze, marzipan and finished with fondant. Should you wish to omit the marzipan we can add a thin layer of fondant to replace it.

For an indulgent twist to your fillings or sponges, I can add alcohol (Baileys, Limoncello or Kirsch) or botanics (lavender, rose or elderflower).

I provide standard depths of 3″ and 4″ for our cakes, which provides two or three layers of moist sponge sandwiched with our delicious fillings and fruit conserves. All prices indicated on our site are based on 3″ depths.

What size are your portions?

Our celebration cake portions are based on 1″ x 2″ x 3″ sized servings. Wedding Cake portions are based as 1″ x 1″ x 3″ sized servings. Please let us know how many portions you require and we would be happy to work out how much cake you need.

Do you make ‘free from’ cakes?

We advise customers with food allergies or food intolerances to contact us about requirements before ordering.  Nuts, gluten and dairy products are present in our kitchen. Therefore we are unable to provide cakes for people who have allergies to these allergens, due to the risk of cross-contamination.

Do you deliver?

Yes, delivery and set up is available for the Edinburgh and Lothians area (typically within 15 miles of Heavenly Tiers). We charge .45p per mile plus a delivery / set up fee. Please contact us for a quote.
