Are you are looking for a unique novelty cake design for your special occasion, wedding or event?
I aim to create the perfect centre piece for your celebration that tastes as good as it looks. See our cake pages for inspiration.
Have you always wanted to learn how to create your own cakes, or take your skills to the next level but don’t know where to start?
I am from Tonbridge in Kent and moved to the Scottish Borders after finishing University in 1997. I settled in Midlothian with my family in 2005, where I live with my husband Neil, our son Ryan and Tess the dog. My background is in community learning and development, specializing in youth work. When I am not making cakes, I love to be outdoors with family and friends.
It all began when I volunteered to make my sisters wedding cake in 2007. I got the cake bug and attended Cake Decoration and Sugarcraft classes Level 1, 2 & 3 at Edinburgh College.
I continued classes at Midlothian Council and practiced my skills making many cakes for friends and family. Due to popularity, I launched Heavenly Tiers in 2010 on a part time basis.
In 2016, I successfully completed a Professional Diploma in Patisserie at the Edinburgh School of Food and Wine.
My husband and I converted our 1850’s former coach house and garage into a cake studio in 2019 and I now specialise in creating bespoke novelty cakes and teaching in person classes.
I have taught cake decoration classes as an adult education tutor for many years. In addition, delivered private demonstrations and classes, both for young people and adults.
Studio Based Classes:
I now offer small group classes from my studio and specialise in teaching beginners classes, novelty cakes and models.
British Sugarcraft Guild:
As a trainee demonstrator for the British Sugarcraft Guide, I am available for zoom demonstrations.
Member of the British Sugarcraft Guild and trainee BSG Demonstrator.
Affiliate business member of Sugar Street Studios Academy which has been invaluable for cake and business support.
Heavenly Tiers is registered and inspected by Midlothian Council and insured by British Sugar Craft Guild.
